18Ruhr-Ext 01 is the first expansion of 18Ruhr. The rules of the base game remain unchanged. The most important element of 18Ruhr-Extension 01 is the map overlay. Use the map overlay to create two new, smaller maps. One represents the Western part of the Ruhr area and the Eastern part. Both maps are suitable for 3 to 5 players. In addition, there are two new Private Companies, one new Railway Corporation and four ‘mixes’ MONTAN Corporation. Each of the latter combines both types of industry, as it was the case in reality.

For each map there five new variances which are necessary due to the reduced number

of corporations and MONTAN locations.
